What's up everybody it's shane the rising grime picker and welcome back to another video and today we're going to be talking about selling on a platform that really no one else is selling on right now there's some people but there's not a lot so let's get into this you guessed it if you guessed walmart.com you are correct so why do i say that really no one else is selling on there well not many people are it's not like amazon where there's like three or four thousand new sellers every day trying to sign up or ebay where there's millions of sellers you're competing with but i started selling on walmart.com here pretty recently and my account is probably less than five or six months old and i have a couple takeaways and a couple good things and bad things about selling on walmart.com so the first good thing about selling on walmart.com is the competition is less.
When i say this when you talk to a walmart rep or anything like that about selling on the walmart marketplace you can say that you know there's gonna be less sales but there's five percent of the competition selling on walmart.com as of any other any other selling platform so you have a good really a good market to make money in so i'm currently on the road sourcing product right now and uh sourcing products i sell on ebay and amazon and stuff like that and i'm probably gonna be on the road for four to five days but with that being said walmart.com let's get back to that so walmart.com like i said there's good things and bad things now i already mentioned one good thing less competition now a couple of the bad things is when i signed up i signed up for walmart.com i could not get into the walmart fulfillment services which means it's like the amazon fba i couldn't get into fulfilled by walmart so walmart kind of guided me to another place so there's two ways when you first sign up that you can sell on walmart.com you can merchant fulfill stuff and ship it to your customer i tried that on a couple items didn't get any sales it was kind of dead and so i'm like well we're gonna have to look at another strategy so i talked to walmart and they sent me to a place called deliver now the liver is a preferred walmart partner and you link it up to your walmart account just like you would link up a third party to your amazon fba or your amazon account your pro amazon account.
So i went to deliver i signed up i got in and then i linked it up to my walmart well it started going really really well so i had some really old toys or not old toys but new toys but i bought them about a year ago and i was selling them on ebay and i couldn't sell them they didn't sell in a year i sent them all onto walmart.com and i sold them through deliver and i sold them and i i believe i sold them for 50 to 60 for about 50 more than what i was selling them for on ebay and i sold them within about 15 to 20 minutes when they hit the warehouse so it's really cool because the liver gives you two day shipping and they basically do a pick and pack fee just like amazon would do but there is also some cons to deliver i didn't like and i'm going to tell you that right now one of the main things i didn't like about deliver is i went to ship a couple shipments in yesterday and they have two shipping methods they have the fulfillment method or the fronting method where you just put everything in one shipment and you send it to one deliver warehouse we'll deliver has i think four to five warehouses and from there uh you just send it fedex and it goes there well the second method is it breaks all your stuff up within four shipments and you send all four shipments into four different deliver warehouses well the main problem with that is is they charge higher fees for that option well i went on there the other night um and this is like august 3rd august 4th and they said since the holiday season's approaching they are no longer letting you do the one warehouse method and so i contacted my rep and i'm like how does this make sense because amazon doesn't shut this down um you know there's certain times like in the holidays where you can't really send stuff into amazon but most of the holiday season it's open like in in you can send it in well in august deliver already shut that off and i was just like what the heck is going on so as i started thinking about this more i was like well this is what they're doing they're shutting it down so they can rake in the fees and charge more and get more fees.
So i just told my rep i said until this opens up i'm ceasing all shipments and i will not ship anything else in because i don't want to do that for shipment method and this is why because walmart's already taken out like pretty much pretty close to like an amazon fee and with deliver the fees are about the same as amazon because they have a pick and pack well the cheapest that my pick and pack fee has been is like five dollars and like 45 or 49 cents or 5.90 something like that it's around five and a half bucks 550 and that's the lowest it's been well the lowest amazon pick and pack fee is like four bucks so you're already paying a little bit more fees in amazon but when you go to shipping and you're shipping to four different warehouses and you're getting higher fees taken out well here's the problem with that the problem is is with all those fees taken out and deliver charges to storage fee which is about the same storage as amazon and all this other stuff you're actually you really need like an item at like 30 bucks to make money or you're going to lose money on it or break even so i just kind of cease that and i was kind of upset about that because i didn't think delivered handled that very well but you're probably asking yourself well i want to sell at walmart.com how do i get an account on walmart.com and this is how you do it like you literally go there and sign up just like an amazon account but you have to be legit you need your ein number and some other things that they want to verify and it is a little bit harder to actually sign up for an account and get approved so it it's a little bit harder than amazon and i think in the future amazon will start making it harder to get a selling account
I think that is coming but with walmart.com it is it took me like a week to get approved maybe two weeks to get approved and i think they wanted to see my ein number my federal ein number they wanted to see my illinois resellers license and all that stuff so i had to i provided all that stuff i put it into pdfs and uploaded it and then after that i just waited and finally i think after about four maybe three four five six days they approved me but then they said you have to go through tutorials and you have to go through kind of a i don't know what you would call it like maybe a uh you know a starting process where they need you to complete so much before they actually launch your account so i had to like make my first product live and i had to sign up and and sign all these documents and i had to go through and do all the tutorials they wanted me to do and i think it took a couple hours and it was a bunch of videos and like they ask you questions and i think that's really good because they're vetting their sellers that's what they're doing but the thing i didn't like is you could not get accepted into the fulfilled by walmart and they just outright denied me so i had to go through deliver and i'll deliver it's kind of one of those things where it's really like they're trying to charge you more fees like they're after fees and that's one thing i don't like it's really hard to do that like when you're trying to ship just one box in and you don't want it to go to four different warehouses but you got to understand walmart just took the number two e-commerce site in e-commerce so they have beaten out ebay for the number two spot and they are now the number two e-commerce retailer on the market ebay is number three of course amazon is number one and i think as time goes on walmart will get more popular i still sell on ebay and i think ebay i love selling on ebay and i'm actually liking it more and more as time goes on in the last month i'm actually liking selling on ebay more and more because i found out that walmart is so difficult to sell on the and i have been successful at selling on walmart now i'm not selling you know a lot of money because i haven't i've only sent in like two shipments to walmart.com or to deliver to sell on walmart so you have to understand like i haven't had any success like i've had on amazon and like i've had on ebay it's a little different but what i can say is i think it's a good supplemental website to really add another stream of income if you're self-employed like me i'm a full-time person that's self-employed full-time and maybe selling five to ten grand a month on walmart.com would really boost your cash flow so overall i think that selling on walmart.com is a really good thing and it is a number two e-commerce website but i think ebay may take that back because that the walmart seller central is kind of janky it's very hard to navigate and plus you do not have any kind of analytics like a rank or you you can't see solds like you can on ebay now there are analytics where you can look at the top selling items on walmart.com but that's not going to give you like if you scan an item on walmart.com it's not going to give you a rank so what i've been doing is if i want to find products to sell i've just been scanning with the walmart app and looking online and if it says out of stock i've been scrolling through the listings and if i can't find that listing and that one is out of stock then i just price it at a higher price
I send it in and i've been successful with that i've sold quite a few items on walmart.com already by doing that method but what i can tell you is if you're expecting amazon type results you are not going to get them right away it's going to take a little while and deliver is kind of they're they're easy to deal with they help you get set up but them taking that fulfillment strategy away from you in august is really going to hurt third-party walmart sellers list and so i think that is the downfall is trying to navigate the liver and in return walmart could just do their fulfilled by walmart and you could be rolling and sitting in shipments but it's not like that because they're not going since you're a new seller they're not going to approve you in walmart fulfillment but you can sell items for a quite a bit of a higher price if they're out of stock and i have before so i guess all i can tell you is like share and subscribe and if you have any questions and maybe i forgot to say it in this video you can comment down below and i'll try to answer your question the best of my ability i know a lot about walmart.com but not as many as some people and if you have any questions just put them in the comments and i'll answer them when i see them but i think i went over most of everything and if i've left something out i apologize and so that's why i say hey comment down below and ask a question but i appreciate it and thank you for watching this video and i'll see you on the next one English
